Music to Accompany
Joyful Movement
A Resource for Nurturing Balance, Movement and the Senses

When we published  Kindergarten with your Three to Six Year Old, we thought it would be helpful to use our website to supplement the music in the book - and we've done the same with the many songs in Joyful Movement. We know that not everybody necessarily knows the tunes to traditional nursery rhymes or can read music.

We found a computer program, Noteworthy Composer, that enables the viewer to follow the written words and music whilst hearing the tune. We thought this would be a great help for those wanting to learn the songs in our books as well as helping people to read music (a skill worth having!).

To view these songs - listed below - you will need either the Noteworthy Composer Browser Plug-in or the Noteworthy Composer Viewer - both of which can be downloaded for free from Noteworthy Software's website.

The plug-in extends the capabilities of your web browser to include the display, playback and printing of Noteworthy Composer files. Download it from here: http://www.noteworthysoftware.com/composer/plugin.htm

Unfortunately, thanks to Microsoft, the plug-in will not work with more recent versions of Internet Explorer. If the plug-in does not work for you, you can download a small (317 KB) program called Noteworthy Composer 2 Viewer: http://www.noteworthysoftware.com/nwc2/viewer.htm

Please note: Noteworthy Composer and related software require the Windows operating system.

For Mac users and anyone else who, maybe, has the book and doesn't want to go to the lengths of downloading software to see the music and words - here are audio (MIDI) files of the music to the songs and nursery rhymes:

Early One Morning
Deep Peace
All Through the Night
I Gave My Love a Cherry
Blessings on the Blossom
This Old Man
There were 10 in the Bed
The North Wind Doth Blow
Spring is Coming
To the Greenwood
My Paddle Clean and Bright
Land of the Silver Birch
I Know an Old Woman
Kookaburra
Michael Finnegan

Bingo
Tom the Piper's Son
Michael, Row the Boat Ashore
Skye Boat Song
Vine and Fig Tree
Hey Ho
My Dame Hath a Lame, Tame Crane
Insy Weensy Spider
Row, Row, Row the Boat
Oats and Beans and Barley Grow
Here We Go 'Round the Mulberry Bush
London Bridge

To view these songs - listed below - you will need either the Noteworthy Composer Browser Plug-in or the Noteworthy Composer Viewer - both of which can be downloaded for free from Noteworthy Software's website. Both state that they require a Windows operating system - so if you use a Mac, we apologize - but you can still listen to the songs (see above right).

Note: we are not aware of any copyright restrictions with any of these songs - if there are, please do inform us!

Here are the songs and nursery rhymes you can see and hear - enjoy! You can also find the songs from Kindergarten with your Four to Eleven Year Old here.
